June 2019 sees the return of KING SIZE SLIM ‘Chess Square Sessions’. Hidden in the heart of Hastings Old Town is a public area with a rich and colourful history named Butlers Gap or ‘The Chess Square’.
It has become something of a tradition for the KSS line-up to perform guerrilla style shows in the Chess Square in early summer. This year the no fuss, all acoustic, pop-up shows feature new songs from the forthcoming new album alongside old favourites. The all daytime performances are never advertised and always at different times on different days. Check social media for details
Sessions continue on the forthcoming KSS album ‘Betta Getta’, A number of new songs are ‘in the can’ and some really creative stuff has been going on tracking live rhythm section parts with the unique two-part KSS percussion line-up.
The KING SIZE SLIM ‘2nd Sundays Spring Residency’ was a great success with the three shows in March, April and May featuring the full band line-up and special guests, all being near sell-out.
So by public demand negotiations are underway for an Autumn ’19 follow up series.
