Check gig list for details.....

After a scorching summer of festival shows across the UK with the full band. Toby Barelli aka KING SIZE SLIM plays some vibe-y club autumn solo shows. Meanwhile , pre-production sessions have started for the next KSS album , working title 'Betta Getta'. Using natural room reverbs and some clever mic-ing rather than soul-less outboard gear seems to be the theme of the sessions so far.... recording piano parts from an adjacent room is nothing unusual , nor are washboard snare drums or burnt out valve amps.

In anticipation of the upcoming summer festival season Toby Barelli and the full four-piece line-up embark upon a short season of guerilla style open air sessions. Rolling a hand-cart filled with Double Bass, Cajon, Conga and Resonator Guitar through the streets of Hastings to one of a few specially selected sites throughout the town. No promotion, no advertising, just turn up and play. Steadily a crowd gathers, a little bemused at first but in this magically strange town nothing surprises for long. Butlers Gap known locally as 'The Chess Square', Bottle Alley and Emmets Carousel all play host to the heavyweight acoustic sounds of KING SIZE SLIM each session had a unique flavour appropriate for its setting.

Spring has sprung, summer is on its way and plans are afoot at KSS HQ.
Heres the press release:
Whilst in the green room awaiting their respective shows on the same bill at the all-acoustic event ‘Slim Monday’, part of the Hastings Fat Tuesday celebrations, Wah-Wah 45s artist Bev Lee Harling and British Blues Award winner Toby Barelli alternatively known as King Size Slim got talking. They got talking about the artistic freedom of not sitting static behind a microphone. They talked about the breaking down of the barrier between an audience and a performing artist and how much more intimate and inclusive that can be. They talked about a similar desire to present their music in a much more genuine fashion. Plans are now underway for a unique 'in-the-round' all acoustic double bill tour.

Meanwhile rehearsals and guerilla style gigs in anticipation of the full four-piece bands festival engagements this coming summer are in full swing. Double Bass, Resonator Guitar , Cajon and Quinto are the ingredients, Heavyweight Acoustic Groove is the flavour.
